TRUSTEE, President of GameAbove EMU, Board of Trustees
Chao Sun came to Eastern Michigan University as an international student from China, an experience that changed his life and shaped his belief in education’s ability to expand opportunity. Today, he serves as President of GameAbove EMU, with work spanning investment, business, community outreach, and philanthropy. He also teaches business at EMU, serves on the board of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southeast Michigan, and has contributed his investment expertise to AAACF’s Impact Investment Committee.
Outside his professional work, Chao enjoys local arts and music. He was involved with Neighborhood Theatre Group when it was first founded, and his community involvement includes Out Loud Chorus and Measure for Measure. As an AAACF trustee, he hopes to explore opportunities that connect education, philanthropy, and the arts to bring people together. His vision is for people to do more than live in Washtenaw County, to feel that they belong to its community.
