Philanthropy Leader, Philanthropic Services

Patrick Naswell

Patrick has 28 years' experience in higher education administration, nonprofit, and philanthropic leadership including 17 years in philanthropy. Patrick has gained significant experience as an administrative leader, grant writer, and gift officer at, the Community Foundation of Greater Flint, CS Mott Foundation and C.S. Mott Community College. In addition, Patrick has a high-level understanding of the nonprofit community as well as the goals and objectives of donors, believing in the value-added that diverse perspectives can bring to any work or project.

Patrick says he loves working at the foundation because of the combination of the purposefulness of our mission and work, along with the opportunity to meet donors, financial advisors, and stakeholders in the community whose commitment to Washtenaw County is equally strong.

Patrick has a long history of volunteering with on board of Rotary, Optimists, the State Street Area Association, AATA, the Alumni Association of the University of Michigan, and the Ann Arbor Summer Festival. Patrick has also served on advisory committees for the Community Foundation of Greater Flint and the Flint Institute of Music.

Patrick loves "old" technology including turntables and vinyl - all the better to listen to his favorite music. I'm also a proud "cross country" and "band" dad but I'm no longer a runner and I've never been a singer (just ask my kid)!
