Impact Investing Manager, Finance
As the Impact Investing Manager at the Ann Arbor Area Community Foundation, Frances brings more than 25 years of experience working in the Ann Arbor area. In this role, Frances works with groups to provide loans that let the Foundation invest donor funds in local projects, creating both financial returns and social impact in Washtenaw County.
Through her work, Frances helps support community needs including housing, childcare, and entrepreneurship. She is especially motivated by the opportunity to provide financing to those who may not otherwise be able to receive loans. She believes in giving people a leg up and helping create opportunities that can improve their current circumstances and enrich their future.
Frances’ career includes working in the Ann Arbor Mayor’s Office, where she gained experience in public policy, approvals, and permitting. She spent time at McKinley, where she developed in-depth real estate expertise. At the State Street District, she worked alongside small local businesses and learned what it takes to run a small business and what owners need to be successful. Her volunteer service on the City of Ann Arbor’s Independent Community Policy Oversight Commission gave her additional experience understanding social justice and the ways groups in the community can be overlooked.
Outside of work, Frances enjoys reading, gardening, and paper crafting. Her favorite Washtenaw County traditions and spots include Knight’s Restaurants and the Ann Arbor Art Fair.
