Following the sale of Lurie Terrace to the City of Ann Arbor, the Senior Citizens Housing of Ann Arbor (SCHAA) dissolved as an independent nonprofit. Its volunteer leadership remains committed to helping older adults through the endowment they established at AAACF: the SCHAA Fund for Seniors.
This fund awards grants to support organizations and programs that serve older adults and their caregivers. For 2025 this committee will be prioritizing applications that focus on technology & transportation programs within Washtenaw County.
The AAACF hosted a virtual information session on Thursday July 13th from 12:30pm-1:30pm. AAACF staff walked attendees through the application process and providing insights into the kind of funding opportunities the committee is looking to support. This information session was not mandatory, but potential applicants were encouraged to attend.
The SCHAA Fund will distribute ~$104,000 in competitive grants to local nonprofits delivering programs and services in Washtenaw County.
