Scholarship Resources & How to Apply

Thanks to the generosity of our donors who care deeply about the future of Washtenaw County youth, AAACF has awarded over $400,000 in 2020 across 49 scholarship funds in support of students as they continue their post-secondary educations at schools across the nation.

About the Online Scholarship Process

The majority of our scholarships use the online Scholarship Application which allows students to submit a single application for all of the scholarships for which they are eligible. The online Scholarship Application consists of:

• Online portion (including two essays)
• Scholarship Recommendation Form
• Transcript.
There are ten scholarships which, in addition to these items, also have other requirements.

Additional Scholarships

In addition to the scholarships that use the online Scholarship Application, AAACF also has seven scholarships that require a paper application. Deadlines for these scholarships vary and can be found here with applications & instructions.

Finally, AAACF has four scholarships that do not have an application form. These scholarships are awarded based on nominations, performance, and/or voting.

In 2016, AAACF launched the Community Scholarship Program which awards up to 5 years of financial assistance totaling $20,000 to help increase college access and graduation rates for students who are Pell eligible, youth of color, and/or first-generation college students.
