AAACF Support for our Community

AAACF is issuing both Grants and Loans in response to the COVID crisis. As our nonprofits, partners, and community strive to support those in need, we are working with them to support Washtenaw County.

Catchafire Opportunity for Capacity-Building

AAACF and the Washtenaw Coordinated Funders are excited to be co-funding, in partnership with the Michigan Health Endowment Fund, to bring the Catchafire platform to Washtenaw County!

YACF—Celebrating 2019 and Looking Forward!

The Ypsilanti Area Community Fund (YACF) welcomed a packed room at the Eagle Crest Clubhouse on November 19th to hear an update and exciting plans for continuing the “community voice” work begun this year. YACF is working toward their Impact Statement.

The Aquademics Scholarship and Legacy of Learning Continue

On November 13th, a group of past Aquademics champions gathered together to celebrate the establishment of the Aquademics Scholarship at AAACF to celebrate the lasting legacy of the program and to encourage the continued pursuit of academic excellence by local youth of color.

Helmut Stern Legacy Celebration

Although we have widely shared news of Helmut Stern’s amazing $16.2 million estate gift—the largest gift in AAACF’s history from an individual, Friday the 13th of September provided an auspicious opportunity to celebrate and share more of his background and lasting legacy with the community!

AAACF Announces Winners in $2.5M Vital Seniors Competition!

Winners of the $2.5 million prizes for the Vital Seniors: A Community Innovation Competition were just announced by the Glacier Hills Legacy Fund (GHLF) of the Ann Arbor Area Community Foundation (AAACF). The initiative, the largest of its kind in North America, was designed to catalyze high-impact innovation and create enduring outcomes for vulnerable seniors and their caregivers in Washtenaw County.

2018 Annual Community Meeting Recap

Many thanks to the 430+ people who joined us for the 2018 Annual Community Meeting on May 7th! We were excited to engage with such a broad group of the community with another record crowd at Washtenaw Community College.
