Youth Council Grant Program

The Youth Council has recently completed the Needs Assessment which has changed the funding priorities and ages served. We invite you to view the final report here. Data from the assessment confirms that COVID -19 has not significantly changed the issues facing young people today, but has brought to the surface and exacerbated those that were already present.
This year, the grant program will accept applications from organizations that support high school age youth and deliver programs addressing:
  • Mental Health Initiatives - Depression, anxiety, suicide, self- harm, and body image
  • Academic Support Services - Tutoring, mentoring, and other supports to address educational equity
  • College Preparedness - College applications and preparing for a positive college experience
  • Anti-discrimination Education & Awareness - Racism and LGBTQIA+ services
In addition, grants will be available for programs serving youth ages 5-18 which:
  • Support the work of the Juvenile Division of the Probate Court
  • Children with disabilities

Available Grant Dollars: ~$90,000
Geographic Reach: Washtenaw County
