Elizabeth Crary's bequest will benefit five organizations

Elizabeth Crary maintained strong ties to her hometown – even after moving to Massachusetts more than 35 years ago. Her love for Ann Arbor, her loyalty to family, and the causes in which she cared deeply are reflected in a generous bequest to AAACF – the largest in our history.

Elizabeth knew what she wanted to accomplish through her estate, though not necessarily how. Her attorney introduced the idea of an endowed gift at AAACF which could offer flexibility in realizing a number of charitable goals. Elizabeth Crary loved that her gift could provide a long-term stream of income to her chosen charities, for both current and future needs, and she appreciated that she could support a number of organizations with one gift.

Elizabeth Crary’s bequest established five agency endowments:

  • Elizabeth A. Crary Fund for St. Andrews’ Church
  • Elizabeth A. Crary Fund for the Humane Society of Huron Valley
  • Elizabeth A. Crary Fund for St. Joseph Mercy Hospital
    Supports care for cancer patients.
  • Elizabeth A. Crary Fund for the Berkshire Humane Society (in Pittsfield, Massachusetts)
  • Elizabeth A. Crary Fund in memory of Thomas H. Crary
Support for lung cancer research and patient care at Marshfield Clinic in Wisconsin.
