Donor Privacy/Bill of Rights
As part of its mission, the Community Foundation seeks to encourage philanthropy at all levels to strengthen our community.
We provide a flexible vehicle for donors with varied philanthropic interests.
We serve as a steward for individuals, families, private foundations, businesses and community organizations that entrust their charitable assets to our management and care.
As a donor to the Community Foundation, you have a right to the following:
- To know AAACF's mission, how we intend to use donated resources, and be confident in our capacity to invest those gifts effectively for their intended purposes.
- To know AAACF's governing Board of Trustees, and to expect the Board to exercise prudent judgment in its stewardship responsibilities.
- To have access to AAACF's most recent audited financial statements and tax returns.
- To be assured your gifts will be used for the purposes for which they were given.
- To receive appropriate acknowledgement and recognition.
- To be assured that information about your donation is handled with respect and with confidentiality to the extent provided by law.
- To expect that all interactions with AAACF will be professional iand respectful.
- To be informed whether those seeking donations are volunteers or paid staff.
- To have competent and effective administration that can implement Board policies.
- To have the freedom to ask questions when making a donation and to receive prompt, truthful and forthright answers.
