Ann Arbor Area Community Foundation

Seniors

Washtenaw County is changing. By 2030 our population of adults over age 60 is expected to triple. This shift will bring unprecedented challenges for our community.  The future needs of older adults and their caregivers will intensify dramatically, placing potentially overwhelming demands on families, support services, and programs for seniors.

AAACF is making strategic investments of both time and grant dollars to help seniors in our community.

AAACF supports the Blueprint for Aging- a community-wide collaborative of nonprofits, businesses and public agencies that work to improve the quality of life for seniors in Washtenaw County.

The Blueprint for Aging outlines several goals:

  • Define and reframe issues of aging
  • Develop and engage a critical mass to affect issues of aging
  • Change community behavior towards seniors
  • Improve the way communities and agencies deliver services and options, to increase seniors' ability to age safely
