Our Funds

Individual donors and organizations have established more than 400 charitable endowed funds at AAACF to invest in our community's well-being -  For good. For ever.
The Community Foundation manages seven different types of charitable funds:
  • Unrestricted Funds give AAACF the greatest capacity and flexibility to address emerging community needs and priorities. Donors can give to AAACF's General Fund or can establish a named unrestricted fund with a gift or pledge of $5,000 or more.
  • Field of Interest Funds support targeted broad areas of interest such as the arts, environment, seniors, education, youth, and health and human services. Donors who are interested in supporting a particular area of interest can contribute to one of AAACF's field of interest funds, or establish a new field of interest fund with a minimum gift of $25,000.
  • Designated Funds/Agency Endowments help local nonprofit organizations  fulfill their missions in perpetuity.  Donors can give to any one of AAACF's Designated Funds or establish a new fund with a minimum gift of $10,000. 
  • Donor Advised Funds offer an attractive alternative to private foundations. A donor advised fund provides greater tax advantages, eliminates any administrative responsibility, and takes advantage of AAACF's lower administrative costs.  While leveraging AAACF's in-depth knowledge of our local community needs, donors can make specific grant recommendations to support the causes they care about - which can include nonprofit organizations outside our geographic area. Donors can establish a Donor Advised Fund with a minimum gift (or pledge) or $20,000.
  • Scholarship Funds  provide annual scholarships to  local area students. Donors can make a contribution to an existing scholarship fund or can create and name their own scholarship fund with a minimum gift of $20,000. Donors may also designate a scholarship advisory committee, and set guidelines for candidate selection and scholarship awards. 
  • Administrative Endowment Funds help AAACF cover the costs of its day-to-day operations. Named funds can be estalished with a minimum gift of $10,000.
  • Special Project/Temporary Funds are non-endowed funds that support local programs and special projects.
