AAACF recently awarded more than $130,000 in grants
Through AAACF's competitive grant programs, two giving circles, and Youth Council - more than $130,000 was awarded to support local nonprofits and the programs and services our community values.

The En Nuestra Lengua Progam
at Bach Elementary School -
a community-based collaborative between the University of Michigan and Ann Arbor's Spanish speaking community.
Competitive grants were awarded to the following local organizations and programs:
- Arbor Hospice - $9,000
Uncompensated Care and the Hospice Garden - American Red Cross, Washtenaw County Chapter - $3,750
Development Consulting - Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra - $1,550
March is Art and Music Month - Catholic Social Services of Washtenaw County - $15,000
Grandparent as Parents Intergenerational Caregiving Support - Family Learning Institute of Ann Arbor - $2,500
Bridging Funding for Long-Term Sustainability - Jewish Family Services of Washtenaw County - $19,808
Ensuring Social Work Coverage for Senior Services - Jewish Family Services of Washtenaw County - $15,000
Transportation for Seniors Sustainability Program - Leslie Science & Nature Center- $1,988
Increasing Capacity Through Marketing Materials - Samaritan Counseling Services, Inc. - $4,663
Outpatient Mental Health Program Accreditation - University of Michigan - En Nuestra Lengua Program -$5,000
Saturday Enrichment Program for K-3 Spanish Speaking Students to Improve Language and Literacy Skills. - Vincent York's Jazzistry - $7,500

- Peace Neighborhood Center - $9,000

AAACF's Youth Council awarded the following grants:
- 826 Michigan - $4,217
US History Writing Project at Roberto Clemente. - Community Leaning Post - $10,000
Programs to improve college readiness and increase community involvement for at-risk youth. - Special Olympics of Washtenaw County- $7,250
Funding for free health screenings and new equipment. - Summer Camp Scholarships Inc. - $6,700
Scholarships to send 4th and 5th grade Willow Run Students who qualify for federal free lunch to overnight summer camp.
Given the current economic environment, AAACF’s highest priority is to ensure local nonprofits can sustain important programs and services our community values.
Grants awarded in the Fall are in addition to more than $486,000 that was awarded in Spring 2010.
