Although this is the last of the weekly updates instituted during the pandemic, AAACF will continue to share important news throughout the summer and beyond. We will also continue to update our dedicated COVID-19 response webpage . In fact, that page now lists AAACF’s first Short-Term Cash Flow Loan Program recipients , which include Michigan Theater , Therapeutic Riding, Inc. , The Women’s Center of Southeastern Michigan , Friends In Deed , and Jewish Family Services . These and other loan recipients in process have demonstrated strength in their operations and ability to repay the loan, and we plan to keep launching new ways to support the nonprofit sector with philanthropic capital. Along with new efforts such as the loan program, we continue to add new perspectives to our Board of Trustees. Please be sure to check out the recently added profiles of our new Trustees : Audrey Price DiMarzo, Christina Kim, Sri Maddipati and Youth Council Trustee Eliza Shearing. Since it will be some time before we can take an in-person group picture, we’re pleased to present this composite of AAACF’s 2020–21 Board of Trustees! In addition to new Trustees, we continue to grow AAACF’s staff . Although we all miss meeting with other community members in person, AAACF operations remain virtual . Our office may be closed, but we are very much in operation! Please continue to contact us and check out new staff profiles on our website in the coming weeks (and our new composite staff photo here). Another new AAACF initiative is to invest some of our endowment within Washtenaw County to enhance our local impact beyond grantmaking. To that end, this summer AAACF will release the 2020 Washtenaw County Capital Report . This important new research will be the first-ever comprehensive summary of local investment activity across the County! Along with input from institutional and individual investors, this report will incorporate findings from the community writ large; calls for participation in virtual focus groups are now underway via social media. We look forward to continuing to visit with you virtually and we will be in touch! As the dedicated endowment for Washtenaw County, we have deployed more than $1.3 million in grants across our community during this crisis — and we are committed to recovery and support for the post-pandemic future!
