News & Event
Here are important messages for individuals and organizations alike as we all focus on taking care of our community during this time of crisis.
If you want to make a gift, we suggest you give to the United Way of Washtenaw County’s COVID19 Community Relief Fund. 100% of all donations will be re-distributed to local charities, and the Song Family Foundation is matching gifts to the fund.
AAACF will begin to issue short-term (up to 180 days) cash flow loans of up to $50,000 each for local nonprofit organizations, with priority given to nonprofits that can demonstrate future revenues to pay back the loans and sustain their operations (e.g., confirmed pledges or future grants, reliable seasonal income, organizations holding nonprofit endowments with us at certain levels, etc.). All loans will be made on a first-come, first-served basis from an initial loan pool of $500,000. Look for more information in the coming days to be posted on our website.
You will receive a separate communication soon with opportunities to co-invest with us locally to maximize impact. Given the need for urgent responsiveness, we will prioritize processing grants for nonprofits responding to the crisis. Thank you for understanding that non-COVID response-related grants will not be processed in our standard two-week timeframe.
AAACF is making emergency systems-level grants, focusing on two areas where we have concentrated resources and expertise: vulnerable seniors and children. We are making these systems-level investments to help as many nonprofits and their clients as possible across the entire County.
Following the CDC's recommended guidelines, AAACF is cancelling its Annual Community Meeting scheduled for May 4. We value this opportunity for our community to gather and will keep evaluating potential rescheduling.
AAACF is monitoring our operations on a daily basis and using technology and other measures to maintain social distance. We are moving toward full virtual operations later this week and will keep you updated via our website and via voice and email systems.
