1825 Founders Society
The 1825 Founders Society is a group of dedicated
Ypsilanti area community members, current and former, who seek to make a
positive difference in Ypsilanti's future and have some fun in the process.
“1825” is the year Ypsilanti was
founded by Augustus Woodward, John Stewart and William Harwood. They named the
new settlement after Demetrius Ypsilanti, a famous Greek patriot general who
distinguished himself in the Greek struggle for independence.
By joining the
Ypsilanti Area Community Fund's 1825 Founders Society you will help seed an
unrestricted, permanently endowed fund. Grants from the
YACF's General Unrestricted Fund support local agencies and programs serving our ever-changing
community.
Membership in the 1825 Founders Society
involves making a significant commitment to Ypsilanti
– a minimum of $1825 to be paid in one donation
or in installments over a four year period. By taking advantage of the
Michigan State Tax Credit as well as available federal charitable gift
deductions, the actual cost of a membership in the 1825 Founders Society
can be quite low - $784 for a single taxpayer or only $384 for a married taxpayer.
Show your
support for the Ypsilanti area by becoming a charter member of the 1825
Founders Society. We’ll put your contribution to work ‘For good.
For ever. For Ypsilanti.’ To donate, please download
